The African continent is the highest priority for NouSol to develop International Cooperation projects. We understand that Spain is the gateway to Europe for immigrants from North Africa and sub-Saharan countries. Because of this, many immigrants end up in Catalonia without any kind of protection or support and end up living in very precarious situations.
Our strategy is, on the one hand, the development of the regions where most of the resident immigration in Catalonia comes from. On the other, involving newcomers, residents and Catalans of other origins in the problems that exist in their places of origin.
Awareness-raising is also a priority to bring these two worlds, so close and at the same time so far away, closer together. Many immigrants driven by the European dream fail to understand the difficulties that living illegally will entail. And Europeans fail to understand the many reasons why these people decide to leave everything behind to come to Europe.
